Active learning methods are to be systematically implemented\nfor this purpose, but only a few institutions have been successful as yet. This paper intends\nto investigate the outstanding features that characterize high-flying practices, however\nsmall in number, and summarize key ideas toward effective program development. Ten\ninstitutions were selected on the basis of recent surveys on active learning practice, which\nwere then visited by the present authors for an in-depth interview. Each of the ten quality\nprograms are summarized in terms of program characteristics, pedagogy, operational\nsystem, and support services. 内容記述 | Recently Japanese universities have been required to undertake a major task of developing the student’s generic skills. Active learning methods are to be systematically implemented for this purpose, but only a few institutions have been successful as yet. This paper intends to investigate the outstanding features that characterize high-flying practices, however small in number, and summarize key ideas toward effective program development. Ten institutions were selected on the basis of recent surveys on active learning practice, which were then visited by the present authors for an in-depth interview. Each of the ten quality programs are summarized in terms of program characteristics, pedagogy, operational system, and support services.
