The focus is placed on image schemata of a lexical and grammatical item, and their implications for teaching English as a foreign language, especially for teaching remedial English. This paper examines and clarifi es the important points that foreign language learners ought to understand and acquire as to both grammar learning and vocabulary learning. It also briefl y reports the results of assessment exercise conducted in class. 内容記述 | The present paper deals with the method of English grammar teaching and vocabulary teaching, using the principles and ideas developed in cognitive linguistics and lexical semantics in reference to verb semantics. The focus is placed on image schemata of a lexical and grammatical item, and their implications for teaching English as a foreign language, especially for teaching remedial English. This paper examines and clarifi es the important points that foreign language learners ought to understand and acquire as to both grammar learning and vocabulary learning. It also briefl y reports the results of assessment exercise conducted in class.
