The pump has an inclinable cylinder and can operate in double-action, that is, water is sucked in and pumped up during both up- and down-reciprocating motions of the float-piston. In order to establish a new simulation model for the wave-energy pump with inclinable cylinder, authors modified the original simulation models for vertical cylinder type wave-energy pump considering horizontal wave force and side friction force. Pump performance has been discussed in terms of wave periods, pump inclination angles and friction forces. Calculated results using this simulation model agreed with experimental results except higher inclination angles.
