FK506 inhibited the DNA synthesis of cultured hepatocytes and renal tubular cells in a dosedependent manner. This was not due to increase of release of the activated transforming growth factor一β.The Cytotoxic effect of FK506 on the cells was examined, but no significant increase in the release of N-acetyl一β,D-glucosaminidase (NAG) from tubular cells or of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) from hepatocytes was observed.
