Students who agreed to participate were asked to each write out words and concepts which they related with “good death when a disease is diagnosed” and “good death at the end of life”, and the results were analyzed qualitatively. As result, the concept of “good death when a disease is diagnosed” could be categorized into 14 categories and “good death at the end of life” into 18 categories. Students in their young adulthood today have decreasing likelihood of experiencing deaths of people who are close to them. Although fearful, they found it difficult to hold a realistic image of death.
