This methodology involves the encapsulation of egg lecithin liposome by such an appropriate hydrogel that does not give any serious damage to the liposome during the encapsulation procedure. Of various hydrogels, the copolymer of acrylic acid with vinylalcohol or vinylacetate seemed to be the best candidate for the present purpose. Interactions between liposomes and hydro gels were investigated from three aspects : (1) spontaneous leakage of a water soluble fluorescent probe, carboxyfluorescein, as doubly encapsulated in liposome-hydrogel ; (2) distribution of liposomes between bulk water phase and hydrogel, which was determined by monitoring an increase in the fluorescent intensity of diphenylhexatriene, DPH, as encapsulated in the liposomal membrane ; and (3) retarded lip oxygenase peroxidation of linoleic acid as embedded in the liposomal membrane. Through all the investigations, the encapsulation of liposome into hydrogel seemed to be a suitable technique applicable to the serum free mammalian cell culture and implantation in vivo as the biomedical material., 長崎大学工学部研究報告, 16(27), pp.183-192; 1986}, pages = {183--192}, title = {生体適合性ヒドロゲルへのリボソームのカプセル化}, volume = {16}, year = {1986} }
