 note = {The volcanic disaster of Mt. Fugen in Unzen was prolonged and enlarged more than five years. Shimabara city and its people had suffered not only from repeated pyroclastic flows and debris flows but also from the marked decline of tourists. The volcanic disaster rendered severe bad effects on the local economy in commerce and industry. Several reconstruction and promotion plans to construct city with countermeasures against disasters were made by local governments. In this paper, we investigate civic life in Shimabara, consciousness of citizens about reconstruction plans, promotion plans and city planning after volcanic disaster by questionnaire survey.
