The disaster has dispersed people from Kamikoba, who have already settled down in other places and rebuilt there houses. The theme of this study is to find out, 1) when and on what criteria did people make decisions during the reconstruction process? 2) what do they think of their decisions at present? A questionnaire survey was made to householders (n = 78) who have lived in Kamikoba before the disaster and are now living in Shimabara City or its outskirts. As the result of the survey, it became clear that, even after dispersed and rebuilt, half of respondents think they should have unite and built a new Kamikoba community, which was the residents' wish right after the eruption but not fulfilled. The reasons that hindered their wish from coming true was the way of reconstruction and economic matters. In another similar disaster, housing and community reconstruction will be an important and difficult subject. The result of this study would be some help to solve those problems in the future., 自然災害科学, 23(2), pp. 229-244; 2004}, pages = {229--244}, title = {火山災害復興における住宅・集落再建に関する調査研究 : 島原・土木場地区をケースに}, volume = {23}, year = {2004} }
