Bangladesh should not be lagging behind in recognizing the importance of having good governance mechanism. Accordingly, this study aimed at benchmarking the status of corporate governance in Bangladesh, as future policy direction should start with assessment of the present standing. Both primary and secondary survey instruments are applied to attain the aforementioned objective. The results of the study revealed that, core elements for ensuring good governance, such as: regulations, auditing, stakeholder engagement etc. needs development and enforcement.
