But φ' at field of sandy soils is usually estimated from N-value by the standard penetration test, so that from a practical point of view it is desirable to obtain the relation betwcen N-value and φ'. In this paper, firstly, a simple relation between N-value and φ' introduced a term of effective overburden pressure which has not been considered in the past is newly presented.
