[Subjects] The subjects were 13 community-dwelling elderly persons: average age, 72.2 ± 5.8 years. [Methods] We measured changes in hemoglobin (HbO2) oxygenation using NIRS while subjects performed TMT. [Results] A significant increase in HbO2 was found immediately after the start of TMT, and elevation of HbO2 was maintained until the end of TMT following a peak at 7 s after the start of TMT.
