Few studies have reported the route by which this organism spreads in a nosocomial infection outbreak. We identified characteristics of the strains isolated from NRI and attempted to reveal the potential nosocomial transmission routes. Methods A follow-up study has been performed in a Japanese community hospital between July 2002 and January 2003. M. catarrhalis clinical isolates were identified and β-lactamase production test as well as the minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) have been examined. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and the multi locus sequence typing method (MLST) have been introduced as the effective \"fingerprinting\" methods. Results A total of 29 strains were isolated from 17 participants; 7 independent DNA fragment patterns were detected by PFGE. Pattern B (defined in this study) was dominant, and was detected both in strains from a health care worker (HCW) and inpatients. In the 9 selected strains analyzed by MLST, 7 unique MLST types were identified, which showed the congruence with the results of PFGE results. Conclusion Epidemiological analysis proved the transmission route from patient to patient, and suggested that more studies should be focused on identifying the possible transmission route between HCWs and inpatients.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_description_63":{"attribute_name":"引用","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Internal Medicine, vol.48(10), pp.797-803; 2009","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"日本内科学会"}]},"item_2_relation_12":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type":"isIdenticalTo","subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.2169/internalmedicine.48.2036","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_2_rights_13":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"Copyright (c) 2009 (社)日本内科学会"}]},"item_2_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"09182918","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_text_62":{"attribute_name":"出版者別言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"The Japanese Society of Internal Medicine"}]},"item_2_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Qin, Liang"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Masaki, Hironori"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Gotoh, Kenji"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Furumoto, Akitsugu"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Terada, Mayumi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Watanabe, Kiwao"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Watanabe, Hiroshi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-12-23"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"IM_48_10_797.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"986.5 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"IM_48_10_797.pdf","url":"https://nagasaki-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/16599/files/IM_48_10_797.pdf"},"version_id":"51bd7a9e-71a5-4027-a18f-a44fe9c7759d"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Moraxella catarrhalis","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"nosocomial respiratory infection","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"nosocomial transmission route","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"PFGE","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"MLST","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Molecular Epidemiological Study of Moraxella catarrhalis Isolated from Nosocomial Respiratory Infection Patients in a Community Hospital in Japan","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Molecular Epidemiological Study of Moraxella catarrhalis Isolated from Nosocomial Respiratory Infection Patients in a Community Hospital in Japan"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"2","path":["36"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2009-11-19"},"publish_date":"2009-11-19","publish_status":"0","recid":"16599","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Molecular Epidemiological Study of Moraxella catarrhalis Isolated from Nosocomial Respiratory Infection Patients in a Community Hospital in Japan"],"weko_creator_id":"2","weko_shared_id":2},"updated":"2023-05-15T19:20:04.516127+00:00"}
