Ten male mdx mice at 8 weeks of age were divided into 2 groups: one group was loaded with an exercise of isometric contraction and the other was not loaded. As the control, male mice of C57BL/10ScN at the same age were similarly assigned into the two groups. The loading of isometric contraction was carried out 5 times per week for daily 10 min during a period of 4 weeks, A significant thickening of the long extensor muscle of digits was observed in both loaded groups of mdx mice and control.In addition, the proportion of fibers having a small diameter and the degree of fiber splltting were smaller in the loaded group of mdx mice.
