Differences were observed in the living background of the students at both universities, but the percentage of students who were smoking was almost the same in both universities and it was small（1.2 percent at A University（Japan）and 1.4 percent at B College（South Korea））. At B College those who were smoking were freshmen or sophomores, while at A University they were juniors or seniors. In an attitude survey on smoking, although no differences were observed in the items that ask about knowledge of smoking, differences were observed in those items that concern the awareness of smoking or attitude toward smoking.
