Whether or not the teacher teaching the students has the ability to recognize any illustrations that imply ideas of gender role is critical related to providing gender equal education using such teaching materials. We asked the teachers to describe their opinions of two pages from different textbooks. The materials described participation in child-rearing differently, with one page including a sketch of "child and mother," and the other page containing a photograph of "child and father." By sex, women recognized the lurking idea of gender role in illustrations and photographs more than men. By teaching subject, teachers in charge of Sociology and Home Economics tended to have a negative opinion towards gender role. By experience of gender study, teachers that had experience of teaching gender at class tended to express negative opinions on gender role. The fact that descriptions of textbook influences opinion development evidently explains the importance to deny gender role and include descriptions that have a gender equal perspective., 長崎大学教育学部紀要. 教科教育学, Vol.48, pp. 81-95; 2008}, pages = {81--95}, title = {高等学校家庭科教科書から受け取る性別役割観 : 「社会」「理科」「保健体育」「家庭」の教師を対象とした調査から}, volume = {48}, year = {2008} }
