We examined the effects of health education to 21 patients who were in a pulmonary rehabilitationon program, on knowledge and/or understanding of diesease, medication, breathing exercises, coping with dyspnea, controlling panic attacks, use of oxygen, self management, and social services. Their practices were also asked. Overall, The correct answer rate to the question asking knowledge was 65%. High correct answer rates were observed for questions regarding to respiration, while correct answer rates were low regarding to diet, social support, and coping with emergency. More than 60% of patients were practicing properly in terms of medication and self-control of respiration, while only a quater were taking proper diet.
