 note = {The objective of this study was to identify before what kinds of adjectives the indefinite article, a or an, is used, and before what kinds of adjectives the indefinite article is not used, when these adjectives are followed by the word pain, and when the pain does not refer to a specific part of the body. This study was conducted making use of a large number of examples taken from the corpus in the BNC.
