The former emphasizes the nutritional and dietary development of babies in the process of changing from milk to solid food, whereas the latter emphasizes the psychological development of babies not to be attached to mother's nipples. There are two ways how a baby separates from breast-feeding. \"Danyu\" has been used as a term to stop breast-feeding by mother's will, whereas the concept of \"sotsunyu\" was introduced in 1990s which pay attention for weaning on baby's initiative.
