The records were written on semi-structured training date sheets. Most students could observe and participate in maternal care nursing, but only a few students could observe and participate in nursing at delivery. Because more than half of the cases have some disorder in the maternal word of the university hospital where the students were trained, it seemed difficult for students to understand the normal perinatal process and to practice wellness-oriented nursing for maternity. Exchange of experiences, information and knowledge among students through conferences was helpful for promoting students' understanding of maternal nursing.
