We made every effort to continue oral food intake before introduction of PEG. After introduction of PEG, we tried to continue oral food intake as long as possible, trained them to expand the activity of daily life and advised their families about the maintenance of PEG. All patients who underwent PEG improved their general and nutritional condition after introduction of PEG. Seven of 10 patients were capable of returning to home care. Two of 10 patients, they could understand the words, accepted PEG and the range of their life was spread comparing the range before PEG. A wife whose husband was underwent PEG and living at home under her care said that she could live with great relief from the fair of pneumonia and pressure to let her husband eat.
