| 内容記述 | Hibiscus hamabo (Malvaceae)was described as a new species in Flora Japonica published by Siebold and Zuccarini in 1835. Some specimens of the plant collected by Siebold are housed both in the Rijksherbariurn to Leiden and the Botanische Staatssammulung Munchen. These specimens are attached labels described by Siebold. The labels were often written Japanese names but did not record the data and locality. The present paper aims to explain and discusse about the collection of H. hamabo by Siebold, his gathering information about the plant, cultivation at Dejima in Nagasaki and the justice of the description and illustration in Flora Japonica. Siebold seems to have collected the plant in Nagasaki and therefore, the type locality might be Nagasaki. He might get the information about the plant from some roots. The plant might have been cultivated at Dejlma to transport to Holland. The illustration of H.hamabo in Flora Japonica had been mistaken in two points. One was the order of flowering and the other was the stem. | |||||||
