The results showed differences in the frequency and purpose of the activities depending on whether they were performed at a day care or a day service, but the types of arts and crafts done at both types of facilities were often simple, easy-to-teach, low-cost projects such as paper folding, collage making, and coloring. At the majority of the facilities, caregivers or nurses oversaw the arts and crafts activities, and the number of facilities with occupational therapists (OT) on staff is still few. It was found that these types of facilities were faced with many challenges in their operations.
