| 内容記述 | This study was conducted to determine the seasonal changes of the composition and the cell density of diatom species in the coastal waters of Nakashima Island, Nagasaki, Japan, for 1986-1987. The results obtained are as follows. 1) A total of 273 species in 69 genera were identified. The number of species was a highest in autumn, at a medium in summer and lowest in winter and spring. 2) The cellular abundance varied fron 1.0x10⁴ to 255.4x10⁴ cells•1⁻¹. Cellular abundance showed a maximum in summer and a minimum in winter. 3) The following 8 dominant species composed 80.0% of total cell numbers of diatoms: Thalassiosira mala, Chaetoceros Pseudocurvisetus, Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros socialis, Nitzschia pungens var. atlantica, Chaetoceros curviselus, C. co,mpressus and Thalassionema nitzschioides. 4) Seasonal succession of the dominant species were as follows, winter: Chaetoceros socialis and Thalassiosira mala, spring: Skeletonema costatum, summer: Chaetocuos pseudocurvisetus, autumn: Thalassiosira mala. 5) Thirty-three important species occurred, of which 25 species were neritic or warm water forms. | |||||||
