内容記述 To make clear the diapausing state of eggs and larvae of Tripteroides bambusa in Nagasaki during winter, the effect of temperature and daylength inducing the eggs and larvae into diapause and the developmental stages sensitive to these factors were observed. The larvae which had been kept at 15℃ with 10 hr daylength were suspending at 4th instar. They seems to be in the condition of diapause. When these diapausing larvae were transferred into 25℃ with 16 hr daylength, the period from transferring to pupation was longer than the period of 4th instar which had been kept at 25℃ with 16 hr daylength from 1st instar larvae. In the case of overwintering larvae in the 4th instar which were transferred into 25℃ with 16 hr daylength, the period from transferring to pupation was similar to the period of 4th instar larvae transferred from 15℃ with 10 hr daylength. This result indicates that .the overwintering larvae in the 4th instar are in diapausing state. In the field condition, all larvae hatched in October developed to the adult in autumn, but the larvae hatched in November and December suspended their development at 4th instar during winter. Overwintering larvae began to pupate and emerge in mid April. Hatching of egg laid in October finished in autumn. A part of hatching of eggs laid in November and all in December was seen from February to April in the next year. When the eggs laid in November were transferred into 25℃ with 16 hr daylength just after oviposition, about 70% of them hatched within 7 days. It seems that overwintering eggs are not in diapausing state or if they are in diapausing state that could reactivate easily.
