Mosquitoes were collected by a light trap for the period from May to November, 1982 in the new town of Nagayocho near Nagasaki City. Female mosquitoes of 6 species were collected, the total number of which was 196. Six mosquito species were as follows; Culex tritaeniorhynchus, Culex pipiens Pallens, Culex bitaeniorhynchus, Anopheles sinesis, Aedes albopictus, Armigeres subalbatus. Among them Culex tritaeniorhynchus was most abundant. This species is considered to occur in rice field, but the number of this mosquito collected appears to be very small for the semi-rural area. This may be due to fact that the area of the rice field in this town considerably decreased for 10 years. Culex pipiens pallens was found in small number but Culex pipiens molestus was not collected. |
