 note = {The authors have investigated on the Mm.pterygoideus externus and internus in a comparatively large sample of Formosan monkey (Macaca cyclopis). The origin, insertion, nerve supply and the relation with the surrounding muscles were studied. In addition, the results were compared with those of other primates and man. As abnormal case in this study, the muscle which was similar to the M. pterygoideus proprius was found.
