In the T~gray Region, the number of people who began ART increased almost tenfold between 2006 and 2010, yet treatment retention among these patients has been challenging. This qualitative analysis explores the experiences of patients who either continued or interrupted adherence to ART. Conducted at three health facilities in Maqala City from August to October 2009, the aim of this study was to document the facilitating factors and barriers to ART adherence from patients' perspectives.\nFor both continued and interrupted adherence, the most common facilitating factors are a beliefin the efficacy of the medication, trust in the health-care providers, low level of side effects, positive treatment results, and having an HIV-positive friend. Each restarter had distinctive reasons for interrupting the ART. Major contributing factors to ART interruption were the side effects and fear of stigma or discrimination.\nIn urban neighborhoods with a high volume of rural migration, where people lived far from their extended families, ART patients were more dependent on health workers for adherence support.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_description_63":{"attribute_name":"引用","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Nilo-Ethiopian Studies, 21, pp.15-18; 2016","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"日本ナイル・エチオピア学会"}]},"item_2_rights_13":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"c 2016 Japan Association for Nilo-Ethiopian Studies"}]},"item_2_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"1340329X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_text_62":{"attribute_name":"出版者別言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Japan Association for Nilo-Ethiopian Studies"}]},"item_2_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Sato, Miho"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Giorgis, Belkis Wolde"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"O'malley, Gabrielle"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-12-21"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"NES21_15.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.0 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"NES21_15.pdf","url":"https://nagasaki-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2356/files/NES21_15.pdf"},"version_id":"e732dde0-fad8-4a43-82a9-aa323f6d712f"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"HIV","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"antiretroviral therapy","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"adherence","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"lost to follow up","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Tigray","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Ethiopia","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Barriers to and Factors Facilitating Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy from the Perspectives of Patients in Maqala City, T3gray Region, Ethiopia","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Barriers to and Factors Facilitating Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy from the Perspectives of Patients in Maqala City, T3gray Region, Ethiopia"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"2","path":["13"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2017-06-13"},"publish_date":"2017-06-13","publish_status":"0","recid":"2356","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Barriers to and Factors Facilitating Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy from the Perspectives of Patients in Maqala City, T3gray Region, Ethiopia"],"weko_creator_id":"2","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-16T03:48:07.089854+00:00"}
