1965年の長崎県の人のJE流行は,大きい流行であった事が,届出患者の血清学的検査によって証明された.2)この人の流行は,県下各地区の飼育屠場豚の血中HI陽性率の上昇を指標として観察した各地区のJEV撤布開始時期と極めてよく一致して時間的,空間的に進行した.即ち,各地区共,その屠場豚HI陽性率の上昇後2～3週間して,人のJE確認患者の発生が始り,先ず,県本土南部地域の長崎地区,島原地区より開始して,県本土南部地域より北部地域へ向って連続的に波及北上する様相が伺はれた.離島地域では,五島地区が県本土地域よりかなり遅れて始り,壱岐,対馬地区は,これより更に遅れた.3) 1965年の長崎県,愛野町におけるC. tritaen.よりのJEV分離開始時期や,島原地区,諫早地区飼育屠場豚のHI陽性率上昇開始時期,更に県下の人のJE確認初発患者の発生時期は,何れも同年の我国の他府県におけるこの種調査報告に比べ最も早期であった.4) 1964年と1965年,両年の長崎県における人のJE流行規模の大小に対し,愛野町において観察したC.
