After 8, 12 and 16 weeks of primary infection, no resistance was observed when the recovery rate of schistosomula from reinfected group was compared with that of previously uninfected group. Effective treatment of jirds with eight-week old patent infections with praziquantel resulted in slight development of resistance to the challenge when their recovery rate of schistosomula was compared with that of the primarily infected jirds. There was no difference in the recovery rate between infected jirds with incomplete treatment and previously uninfected jirds.
