Two DEN-3 isolates in the Philippines were rather similar each other, and also three DEN-3 isolates in Indonesia were rather similar, whereas the isolates in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand were significantly different from each other. The result suggests that mutations and selections of DEN-3 viral genome would have progressed independently in these geographically distant areas.
