Fimbrial subunit purified by this method showed different sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) profile depending on the sample sources. Fimbrial subunit showed single band on SDS-PAGE, although it revealed numerous bands on isoelectrofocusing (IEF) suggesting the interaction of fimbriae with lipo-polysaccharide.
