Due to the rapid urbanization, however, the maintenance of parks in Japan is behind in comparison with that of Europe and U. S. A. In this study, the authors not only investigated the present states of urban parks in Japan but made some proposals aiming at their quality improvement from the biotope and welfare viewpoints.
