This plan included construction of the large-sized commercial institutions such as "Yumesaito" and "AMYU Plaza Nagasaki" in the bay area of Nagasaki city. It caused, however, a traffic increase and change in the peoples' flow in the city, especially around Route 202,passing in front of the JR Nagasaki Station, where one of the most serious traffic jam in Kyusyu is shown. In this study, the traffic volume in front of the Nagasaki Station was investigated, before and after opening large commercial institutions, and an increase of right-turns was observed. A large influence in customers' behavior also appears at Hamano-machi, the existing commercial center, after opening of large commercial institutions. The future plan should consider co-prosperity of the existing shopping streets and newly constructed shopping centers, with keeping the traffic volume to a reasonable extent., 長崎大学工学部研究報告 Vol.31(57) p.129-133, 2001}, pages = {129--133}, title = {長崎ベイエリア再開発による交通量変化など周辺市街地への影響}, volume = {31}, year = {2001} }
