Town planning in the future should consider the opinion of actually living residents. To understand the resident consciousness about traffic environment and disaster prevention, the authors carried out questionnaire survey in Tateyama, a representative sloped urban area in Nagasaki City. The result shows that some improvements are expected; reconstruction of the stairway for traffic environment, effective seminar and precise announcement for disaster prevention.
