This suggests that the depopulation progress in Nagasaki City, while in the neighboring towns the population increases. The population runoff to the suburbs from the central Nagasaki City has been remarkable in recent years. In this study, the authors carried out the investigation on the depopulation and its background by using statistical data of Nagasaki City and the seven neighboring towns. The results show that the outflow of the young generation to the newly constructed housing in the suburbs is the main factor of the depopulation of Nagasaki City. In order to ease the depopulation in Nagasaki City, it is necessary to improve living conditions to the extent that satisfy the requirements of the young generation in the urban area., 長崎大学工学部研究報告 Vol.32(58) p.149-155, 2002}, pages = {149--155}, title = {地価下落に潜在する長崎市都心部の空洞化とその背景}, volume = {32}, year = {2002} }
