Accordingly, this study investigated the present state of barrier-freeness by taking the Tenjin-Oomuta Station in Fukuoka as a case, which is now under reconstruction. In doing so, the authors used barrier-free checklist and conducted hearing investigation to the staffs of Nishitetsu Ltd. The results of the investigation showed that, barrier exists not only in the non-reconstructed portion of the station, but also in the newly reconstructed part of the station. On the other hand, the authority of Nishitetsu Ltd. took different programs to convey the feelings of disability to the service-providing staffs.
