The English terms husband and wife, as well as their Japanese translational equivalents otto, shujin, danna, okusan/okusama, tsuma, and yome were investigated. The results show that, in both English and Japanese, collocates of terms for married women primarily pertain to the semantic fields of physical appearance and sexuality, victimization by violence, subservience, and the capacity for childbearing, while the results for married men are more varied, but frequently involve the semantic fields of power, personality traits, physical appearance, and virility/sexuality. These results will be considered within the context of the study of gender and language (e.g. Connell 2002, Lakoff 1975/2004), and in particular as they relate to Ide’s (e.g. 2004) claim that women are not subordinate to men in Japanese culture.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_3_description_64":{"attribute_name":"引用","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"長崎大学言語教育研究センター論集, 9, pp.45-72; 2021","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"長崎大学言語教育研究センター"}]},"item_3_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA1288958X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_3_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"24354651","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_3_text_62":{"attribute_name":"sortkey","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"05"}]},"item_3_text_63":{"attribute_name":"出版者別言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Center for Language Studies Nagasaki University"}]},"item_3_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"BENOM, Carey"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2021-04-08"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"JCLS9_45.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"3.0 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"JCLS9_45.pdf","url":"https://nagasaki-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/26470/files/JCLS9_45.pdf"},"version_id":"2c4c927a-9e91-4916-b6a0-44170d97bfe5"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"language and gender","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"corpus linguistics","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"contrastive analysis","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"semantic and pragmatic typology","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Husbands and wives in English and Japanese: A cognitive, corpus-based semantic and sociopragmatic analysis","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Husbands and wives in English and Japanese: A cognitive, corpus-based semantic and sociopragmatic analysis"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"6","path":["1989"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2021-04-08"},"publish_date":"2021-04-08","publish_status":"0","recid":"26470","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Husbands and wives in English and Japanese: A cognitive, corpus-based semantic and sociopragmatic analysis"],"weko_creator_id":"6","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T20:24:08.581947+00:00"}
