Due to the spread of COVID-17, the course has introduced online instruction since 2020. Using the data collected by student surveys and teacher assessments, this study explores the effects of different instructional approaches on student attitudes, learning behaviors, and learning outcomes. Data analysis suggests that 1) online and hybrid instruction expands students’ access to instructional resources and self-study hours. 2) Online instruction provides different options to learn for learners. It encourages them to engage in their learning and promotes learner autonomy. 3) In-person instruction facilitates interactive activities among students and gives opportunities to use the target language. 4) Online instruction improves student performance in participation and assignments.
