In these two or three years, in some Japanese Corporations, Top Executives as Presidents or CEOs were scouted from outside against Japanese tradition of nomination from internal candidates. In case of Calbee, the scouted Chairman and President has succeeded to improve its achievement tremendously, based on the management knowhow with his background in an excellent US. Multinational Company. Adding to such cases, even within the tradition of internal nomination, Hitachi had nominated the once retired Vice Chairman to the Top Executive and recovered from its first ever red figures in Japanese industries. On both hands, it seems that it would be one of the important requirements for Top Executives to have experience to see the company they belong to from outside. According to the author’s survey, in most cases, the Executive Candidates Training Programs in large Japanese corporations are lack of such point of view.
