In Panama, the main T. cruzi vector is Rhodnius pallescens, a triatomine bug whose main natural\nhabitat is the royal palm, Attalea butyracea. In this paper, we present results from three T. cruzi serological tests\n(immunochromatographic dipstick, indirect immunofluorescence and ELISA) performed in 51 dogs from 24 houses\nin Trinidad de Las Minas, western Panama. We found that nine dogs were seropositive (17.6% prevalence). Dogs\nwere 1.6 times more likely to become T. cruzi seropositive with each year of age and 11.6 times if royal palms where\npresent in the peridomiciliary area of the dog’s household or its two nearest neighbours. Mouse-baited-adhesive\ntraps were employed to evaluate 12 peridomestic royal palms. All palms were found infested with R. pallescens with\nan average of 25.50 triatomines captured per palm. Of 35 adult bugs analysed, 88.6% showed protozoa flagellates in\ntheir intestinal contents. In addition, dogs were five times more likely to be infected by the presence of an additional\ndomestic animal species in the dog’s peridomiciliary environment. Our results suggest that interventions focused on\nroyal palms might reduce the exposure to T. cruzi infection.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_description_63":{"attribute_name":"引用","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Memorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 110(7), pp.936-944; 2015","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_2_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, Ministerio da Saude"}]},"item_2_relation_12":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type":"isIdenticalTo","subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.1590/0074-02760150284","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_2_rights_13":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"c Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, Ministerio da Saude"},{"subitem_rights":"This article is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License."}]},"item_2_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"EISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"16788060","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Saldana, Azael"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Calzada, Jose E"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Pineda, Vanessa"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Perea, Milixa"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Rigg, Chystrie"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Gonzalez, Kadir"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Santamaria, Ana Maria"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Gottdenker, Nicole L"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Chaves, Luis Fernando"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-12-21"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"MIOC110_936.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"504.3 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"MIOC110_936.pdf","url":"https://nagasaki-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/4788/files/MIOC110_936.pdf"},"version_id":"9a628c6f-8cbc-49ac-8f0c-272cb9e158ea"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Trypanosoma cruzi","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Canis familiaris","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Rhodnius pallescens","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Attalea butyracea","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Chagas disease","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Panama","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Risk factors associated with Trypanosoma cruziexposure in domestic dogs from a rural community in Panama","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Risk factors associated with Trypanosoma cruziexposure in domestic dogs from a rural community in Panama"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"2","path":["36"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2015-11-09"},"publish_date":"2015-11-09","publish_status":"0","recid":"4788","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Risk factors associated with Trypanosoma cruziexposure in domestic dogs from a rural community in Panama"],"weko_creator_id":"2","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-16T03:15:32.910422+00:00"}
