 note = {Rapid progress of society raises university advancement rate, and now more than 50% of 18 year-old with diverse value goes to university. Universities confront a crucial challenge for educational reform to foster such students in accordance with university's principle. Nagasaki University to which the author belongs has started reform of general education. It is shift from a curriculum based on liberal arts subjects to a group of subjects based on subjects which focus on the issue of modern society. We call latter new curriculum a module.
The author found various challenges through the teaching of his own class and the observation of other faculty's class. Followings are major issues: 1) improvement in the faculty's attitude, 2) improvement of teaching method, 3) encouragement of student's voluntary learning.
