In order to investigate the possibilities of the island region in particular, Mishima village in Kagoshima prefecture, which is the only place located within the island region as of September 2013, was selected as a research target among the regions currently aiming for the approval of a Japanese geopark. The study was conducted by questionnaire survey method through the distribution of inquiries to all households of Satsuma Iwo-jima, which will be the center of the geopark concept of Mishima village. As a result the following three points were clarified. 1) Since it is essential that the significance of the geopark as well as regional vision to aim for is spread throughout the residents, the formation of a promotion system for this purpose is necessary. 2) It will become important for proactive work to take root in the region in order to lead to geopark activities by the local residents in the area. 3) To have proactive work by local residents to take root, the encouragement of rediscovering local resources is effective. For this, the continuation of careful discussions is required in the construction process of the geopark., 地域環境研究 : 環境教育研究マネジメントセンター年報, 6, pp.33-45; 2014}, pages = {33--45}, title = {ジオパーク構想の推進過程における住民意識 -鹿児島県三島村を事例に-}, volume = {6}, year = {2014} }
