Structural changes on this phase transition of n-pentadecanoic acid and n-heptadecanoic acid were investigated by means of polarized infrared spectroscopy using an oriented specimens. The polarized infrared spectra of n-heptadecanoic acid before (B' form) and after (C' form) the phase transition show clear dichroism.
