The authors prepared a model-net one-twentieth as large as an actual trawl and made experiments with it in a water tank, comparing the results with the obtained from the use of the actual trawl-net in the fishing ground. The height of the net-mouth in the fishing-ground was about 21-27% less than that in the experimental tank at a trawling speed of 3 knots.
