The alga was growing on the concrete edge and gravels at bottom in the Kogane River, where the depth of river is ranged from 10 to 20 cm and the water rans at the speed of 15-20 cm/sec. The water temperature in the river is 12-13℃ during winter. The well grown frond was about 30 cm long and about 1.0 mm thickness. Morphological features of this alga from the new habitat, such as axial medullary filaments, assimilattory filaments and monosporangial cells, were almost similar to those of the original description for Nemalionopsis tortuosa by Yoneda et Yagi.
