The following results were obtained. 1) Along the east and south margins of the bank, a thermoline was observed between the layers 200m and 300m below the surface. 2) The bottom topography on the bank was very rugged, especially in the central part where the difference in altitude of ups and downs was as big as 23m. 3) A number of echos of fish schools were recorded on the bank. They were especially dense and numerous just above the tops of ups in the southern half of the bank. 4) A total of 30 fish species belonging to 14 families were caught by hand-line fishing. Groupers, pigfaces, and snappers were commercially important fishes among them., 長崎大学水産学部研究報告, v.53, pp.1-10; 1982}, pages = {1--10}, title = {ソロモン海ニューイヤーバンクの水温,海底地形および生息魚類について}, volume = {53}, year = {1982} }
