The optimum concentration of added ammonium acetate was 0.3% in NCTC 8238 and 0.1% in NCTC 8798. 2) The effect of ammonium acetate on the enterotoxin production in NCTC 8238 was enhanced by the addition of 0.01 - 0.05% glucose into the sporulation medium.
