| 内容記述 | Four years have passed since the Faculty of Environmental Studies in Nagasaki University initially acquired ISO 14001 certification, the internationally standardized Environmental Managements System, after a strict inspection. However, our EMS consists of only teachers and the office staff in the faculty, excluding students as participants. Although the EMS is being managed rather smoothly for the time being, most students lack awareness of it and the level of interest is low. Considering that the faculty is an educational institution, the students' involvement would be more desirable from the viewpoint of education and also efficiency. A number of students examined how Chiba University was running their EMS in terms of students' commitment, and compared their system with Nagasaki's as a part of the coursework for their Environmental Management Theory course in 2005. In 2006 and 2007 on the basis of their investigation, other students made a proposal for a change in the system, that is, to switch to an EMS administered mainly by students. They also initiated other related activities to do with environmental management. | |||||
