"N大学病院で実施している低出生体重児とその家族への育児支援のひとつであるカンガルーケアに焦点をあて，その効果について検討したので報告する．　研究対象はN大学附属病院小児科未熟児室に平成12年5月から平成12年8月に入院した子どもの中で，研究期間内にカンガルーケアが可能な状態であり，長期入院が予測された子どもとその両親5組である．　研究対象に対し，カンガルーケア実施前後の気持ちをアンケート調査した．調査内容は，1．子どもに対面する前の気持ち，2．初めてカンガルーケアを行った時の気持ち，3．カンガルーケアを行うようになってからの気持ち，4．カンガルーケアについてどう思うか，とした．　分析方法は，アンケートの記述内容から気持ちの変化について述べている部分を抽出し，カンガルーケアの効果について考察した．　母親へのアンケートの結果，子どもに対面する前の気持ちでは，不安が表現された記述であった．初めてカンガルーケアを行った時の気持ちでは，不安が軽減され，肯定的な感情へ変化していた．カンガルーケアについては全員が好意的にとらえていた．　父親へのアンケートでは，母親のように直接的な表現ではないが，初めてカンガルーケアを実施した時の喜びを表現し，カンガルーケアに対して良い印象を持っていた．　一方で長期にカンガルーケアをできない母親に対しては細かな配慮が必要である．",
