内容記述 | This paper aims to explore the role of educational institutional research (IR) for learner-centered education based on a case study of academic management at Nagasaki University (NU) in Japan. The purpose of the educational IR in NU originally was to explore problems through statistical analyses. However, because the policy of Ministry of Education (MEXT) on academic management has emphasized the visualization of learning outcomes for learner-centered education, the educational IR has transformed toward supporting students rather than statistical research. With this approach to IR, the IR organization became a part of the academic management system. Although the educational management system has been institutionally established, it has some kinds of issues in NU; that is, indifference of the university’s executive board, faculty, and stuff, and the lack of human resources capable of managing academic management. It is not clear whether the system that has been established will be maintained, or whether, on the contrary, it will be (mistakenly) discarded as unnecessary. | |||||
